There at the end, we were running down the 21 (Jeff Burton) and the 60 (Edwards). We passed the 39 (Newman) and were closing in on them pretty good. I felt like I would probably get to the 21 before the end of the race. I don't think I could get to the 60, but then the caution came out.
Tony has a problem with running you into the fence the second he gets position. We were running side by side, and he started running me into the fence.
Tony has a problem with running guys into the fence as soon as he gets position. I don't know why he would try to run me in the fence.
He (Roush) has a huge advantage. He's got a 50 percent chance, I think. All of the teams are running good. But the (No.) 20 car (Stewart) is better than all of us. We'll see.
You know what, our whole team feels really, really good about last week -- like we won almost. Spirits are high because the fact is that we have good race cars and we're running very well. That's the key.
I really enjoy running the Busch car. I have a lot of fun with it, and the more seat time I can get, the better. I hate it when there is a race going on and I'm not out there in it.
I feel awesome, ... I think that before tonight I felt like we were the team to beat and I still do. We've got so much momentum. Our cars are running fast. I really feel like we are the team to beat.
All of the teams are running good. But the 20 car is still better than all of us.
I've got a car that's as good as my teammates are and they're out there running out front, but I just wasn't in the right position. I was just kind of taking it easy there and the motor gave up. It had been vibrating for a little while. We've got a chronic vibration issue. I don't know, sometimes it makes a difference and sometimes it doesn't, but obviously today it did.
We share information really well together ââ¬â all the teams do ââ¬â and we give each other racing room, ... It's fun to race with Matt and these other guys. Man, it's just unbelievable that our cars run this good.
Vegas is definitely a place where we can win. We had a good run here last year, and I feel even more confident about the car we're taking this time. We're taking the car that we raced in California two weeks ago, and it was obviously a good car.
This track has got a ton of grip right now. It is really, really fast. My car was just really solid. It was a really good lap. I didn't want to try for a second one because you're always taking a chance qualifying here because you are always right on the edge.
We just have to make up points on the 20, ... We made up a little bit on the 48 today and a little bit on the 12, but we've got to finish more than one spot ahead of the 20 to gain anything on him. But those guys are doing a good job. They're in a point's mode and that's what they're doing.
We got ourselves into a little hole in Daytona. But I have no doubt this team will turn it around this weekend.
