paid pay price
It was pretty fun, actually. I paid the price for it. He didn't pay any price, I know that.
beginning best bit came efforts game guys quarter quickly season third tune
It was one of our best all-around efforts this season from beginning to end. The guys were in tune with the game plan. We came out in the third quarter a little bit off, but we quickly re-grouped.
ben best difference efforts game guys tune
It was one of our best all-around efforts of the season. The guys were really in tune with the game plan. Ben made some big shots, but it was Andres who made the difference in the game.
given played team
That kind of team has given us problems. We're going to have to play much better than we played tonight.
ball came care free handle quarter third throws
That made it interesting. They came out in the third quarter and started getting after us, and we didn't handle that really well. But we were able to make our free throws and take care of the ball well enough to get the win.
area coaches hair near places rank separate tight worst
It's still one of the worst in the league. I don't know where I'd rank it, but it's near the bottom. It's still pretty tight in there. Most of the places have a separate area for the coaches so we're not in the players' hair before the game. But this one doesn't.
course face good heard learn lesson needs opportunity personal responsibility similar throughout time
No, because I've heard similar things throughout the course of the year. It's something he's going to have to get over. He needs to face the personal responsibility of what he needs to get done. I just look at it as an opportunity to learn a good lesson at this time of year.
blew clock clutch difficulty free game hope kinds mind opportunity realize score second
It makes you realize that we blew an opportunity to be closer. Going all the way back to the second game of the season, we've had some difficulty making clutch free throws. If your mind is on anything else but your technique, you're probably in trouble. If it's on the score and the clock -- 'I hope I make it,' and all those kinds of things -- you're probably in trouble.
defensive definitely future good holds learn nba offensive rookies verge
It's been a good impression; he's a very good offensive player. He's got a lot to learn on the defensive end, as all rookies do. I'm not sure, yet, what his future holds here. But he's definitely on the verge of being an NBA player.
game
It's as important as a regular-season game can get.
best collapse help league players team top win
It's a 50-plus win team with two of the top 10 players in the league (O'Neal, Dwayne Wade). With Shaq, we'll try to collapse on him when he catches it and then make him play inside-out. With Dwayne, we'll just do our best to get help and make him play in a crowd.
against averaged couple difficult early four games great learned lesson momentum needs opened played players playing points possession total
It wasn't like we had a total letdown or anything; we just softened up enough to let him get going. And once he got going, it was very difficult to get any momentum back. Early in the third, we went under a couple of times on screens. He made one, and that really opened his eyes. He put one right in the middle. That's a lesson that needs to be learned -- playing against great players like that, just one possession can get them going. Obviously, if you look at the whole year, the four games we played them, he's averaged well over 30 points against us. We didn't get it done against him this year.
fought free kept played tale throws
It was a tale of two halves. We played well in the first half, they played well in the second. We made our free throws down the stretch. We fought them off, and kept them at bay.
bet great guys longer pride recent start taking took year
It took us a little longer this year for the guys to really start taking a lot of pride in it. But they did and they got it accomplished. I bet if you went back in the recent 20 or 30 years in the league, nobody's ever done it with guys this young. When you think about that, it's a great accomplishment for a young team.
