ball defense driving finally kindness near picked quarter start third waited
We just waited too long to start playing. We kind of just sleepwalked through 2 1/2 quarters. Then near the end of the third quarter we finally started getting aggressive. We started driving the ball and our defense picked up.
ben good moment players starts sudden throwing unique
Ben is one of the most unique players I've seen. It is uncanny how one moment he is out there and not having a good game, then all of a sudden he just starts throwing in shots.
ben consider energy good move player proven reflection score starting
Ben has had a good year. Not starting isn't a reflection of Ben. When considering a lineup move to get some energy out there, you have to consider how that player will respond. Ben has proven he can come off the bench, score and be very productive.
allowed ball defense exception game good handful life looks played running shot start
We had good life from start to finish, and we played very good defense with the exception of a handful of possessions. That allowed us to get out and get our running game going, and get some good looks in transition; and we shot the ball well tonight.
couple free held kept starting
We made free throws, they fouled us and we made free throws. We were able to get a couple of baskets when it was starting to get tight, and we held the off and kept them at bay. It was really just making free throws.
answer came close exception four kings level starters took turned tyson
With the exception of Tyson Chandler, we came out flat. The other four starters weren't at that level so the Kings really took it to us. We got it close and then they just turned it on and we didn't have an answer for them.
ability ball brad concepts defender forced knows miller minutes picked played pleasantly role sacramento shoot shown starting sure surprised trying
The opportunities we had to see him play big minutes -- when Brad Miller went down, he was forced into the starting lineup with Sacramento -- he played well in that role. He knows and we know that's not a role he's necessarily comfortable in. But he's shown the ability to shoot the ball well. We weren't really sure what kind of a defender he was going to be. We've been pleasantly surprised with the way he's come in and picked up our concepts and things we're trying to execute.
defense driving finally near ourselves picked sleep start third waited
We waited too long to start playing. We kind of sleep-walked through 2-1/2 quarters. Then near the end of the third quarter, we finally started getting aggressive. We started driving the ball, and our defense picked up. We clawed ourselves back into the game.
focused relaxed start
We wanted to get off to a better start and we did. We were comfortable out there and relaxed yet focused at the same time.
bet great guys longer pride recent start taking took year
It took us a little longer this year for the guys to really start taking a lot of pride in it. But they did and they got it accomplished. I bet if you went back in the recent 20 or 30 years in the league, nobody's ever done it with guys this young. When you think about that, it's a great accomplishment for a young team.
across couple early focus game ready starters
Our focus early in this game was unacceptable for a game this big. Not all across the board, but a couple of our starters just weren't ready tonight.
advantage chance full game past pick point start
You start getting past the mid-point or getting to the 30-game point and you have a chance to pick up a full game on a team, you'd like to take advantage of that.
detroit five great players starting vote
Detroit has great players. I never thought there would ever be a day that I would vote for a whole starting five to be on the all-star team, and I did. They have great players and a great team.
best carries clean continues fair games looking pushed series slate sort start tape unless
I really don't think so. Each one of these games has the best referees. I don't think too much carries over, unless this sort of continues on and the series got pushed on. I know the referees are working very hard. They're looking at tape and things. They also want to be very fair and start each game with a clean slate and go from there.
