defender good model role tremendous younger
He's just a good player. He's a good hitter, a good defender and a good baserunner. He's a tremendous role model for all our younger players.
dead four three wrong
Hopefully, we'll use him three or four times. There is nothing wrong with his arm. It was just dead the other day.
anyone certainly league played position
I don't know if there is anyone in the American League who has played the position better than Jeremy. He certainly has played well for us.
ball bat certainly coming conducive good hitters later laying seeing spring successful swing timing toward turn work
But toward the end of spring training, his swing got more crisp and the ball started coming off his bat better. With good hitters, you see that happening. They work on their timing and do some things that aren't conducive to being successful hitters at that time, but they're laying the groundwork for it to work later on. We're certainly seeing his swing turn around.
count expecting firm five four innings love pitch pitches relief
He pitched two innings in relief in Toronto, so we're not expecting 120 pitches from him. But we haven't set a firm pitch count for him yet. We will before he pitches, but I'd love to see four or five innings from him.
runs score
He pitched an outstanding game. We just couldn't score enough runs for him to win.
best bit confidence five four kept last seen stronger tonight
He pretty much kept a good-hitting ballclub off-balance all night. We've seen him getting stronger and stronger and getting more confidence in himself. His last four or five outings, each one has been just a little bit better than the other one. And tonight was probably the best of them all.
breath figured good lead protect sure time took
I figured it was as good as any. I figured if we couldn't protect a 10-run lead ... We got him out there, and I'm not sure he took a breath the whole time he was out there.
field later left middle option start
If I DH Morse, I don't have a middle infielder to use later in the game. When I have him in left field (to start the game), I do have the option to use him in the infield later.
known shoot whether
If he'd been out I wouldn't have known whether to shoot him or Carlos.
continues pitch plenty throw
If he continues to pitch the way he did, then he'll have plenty of opportunities to throw shutouts.
hit keeps plays
If he keeps making plays like that, ... he's not going to have to hit at all.
arm maybe move plan rethink
If his arm is still nagging at him, then maybe we'd rethink it, but the plan right now is to move him into the rotation.
change speak
If Felix had a mouthful of nickels, he couldn't give you change for a quarter. He doesn't speak much, he just competes.
