against baltimore discussing happen hitting intrigued realm
I always have been intrigued by Ichiro hitting third. When I managed against him with Baltimore I was intrigued by the idea. It is not out of the realm of possibility that it would happen here. ... That would never be done without first discussing it with Ichiro.
close
He won't be at that level. But he'll be close to it.
days drop innings kid limit remains rotation settled skip talk throwing
How we're going to limit his innings remains to be seen. We can drop him down in the rotation ... when we have days off, we can skip his turn. There's a lot of things we can talk about. We haven't settled on any one strategy; it may be a combination of plans. But the one thing is that we don't want this kid going out there throwing 250 innings.
breaking command fastball good stretched supposed
He was only supposed to go two innings, but the way he threw, we stretched him out to three. He had real good command of his fastball and a real good breaking ball.
couple early good missing threw
He was rushing, he was missing his spots. He threw a couple of good pitches, then he'd get away from it. It's still early in the season.
good last win
He's pitched well every outing. The last two have been exceptionally well pitched. But he's been good every outing. It's good to be able to win one when he's pitched well.
balls breaking command good hanging night threw
He didn't have command of anything. He got away with some hanging breaking balls early, but he didn't get away with the one he threw to Barajas. It wasn't a good night for Felix.

ball best complete elevated five four gotten intended kept last trouble
He kept the ball down, and when he elevated his pitches, he intended to. His last four or five outings, each one has been better than the other, and this one was the best of them all. If he hadn't gotten into some trouble in the eighth, he probably would have pitched a complete game.
few kept scratch
He kept a good-hitting ballclub off-balance and we were able to scratch out a few runs.
certainly eliminate himself keeping keeps
He keeps keeping himself in the mix. He certainly hasn't done anything to eliminate himself.
above arm average glad good quick solid
He is as was advertised. He's a good solid catcher, he has a good quick release. He has an average to a little above average arm that's accurate, and he's a very intelligent player. I'm glad he's on our side.
light second somebody switch turned
He had a 14-pitch first inning and a 38-pitch second inning. It's like somebody turned the light switch off.
bury couple spin spun throw
He got away with a couple of curveballs. He just spun it up there, didn't try to bury them. Hopefully, Felix realizes if he's going to throw that pitch, he has to throw it and not just spin it up there.
