good player stays veteran
He's a veteran player and if he stays healthy, he's a good player.
couple days wait
He's fine. We'll wait a couple of days on him.
days drop innings kid limit remains rotation settled skip talk throwing
How we're going to limit his innings remains to be seen. We can drop him down in the rotation ... when we have days off, we can skip his turn. There's a lot of things we can talk about. We haven't settled on any one strategy; it may be a combination of plans. But the one thing is that we don't want this kid going out there throwing 250 innings.
above arm average glad good quick solid
He is as was advertised. He's a good solid catcher, he has a good quick release. He has an average to a little above average arm that's accurate, and he's a very intelligent player. I'm glad he's on our side.
light second somebody switch turned
He had a 14-pitch first inning and a 38-pitch second inning. It's like somebody turned the light switch off.
bury couple spin spun throw
He got away with a couple of curveballs. He just spun it up there, didn't try to bury them. Hopefully, Felix realizes if he's going to throw that pitch, he has to throw it and not just spin it up there.
ball behind falling four hitting plain throwing walking
He (Franklin) was throwing the ball well for four innings, then he started nibbling. When he did that he started falling behind and walking people. Then they started hitting him, plain and simple.
game level pitch
He'll pitch at least one simulated game and probably a 'B' game. We want to get him to the 50- to 55-pitch level before he leaves.
everyday hitter jeremy leading
He'll get some but it's not going to be an everyday thing. I don't necessarily think that Jeremy is a leadoff hitter or we want him leading off.
might sandwich wearing
He might as well have been wearing a sandwich board, with 'Eat At Joe's' on one side, ... and 'I'm bunting' on the other.
came hardest hit
He came out of it OK. I told him that's the hardest he's hit anything all spring.
behind came count good hit laid rodriguez
Rodriguez has got good stuff, and Lopez laid off that curveball when he got behind and got the count 3-2, and then hit the double. Betancourt came through in a big situation. That's good to see.
breaths shallow
Real shallow breaths in the ninth. But at least I was still breathing.
bat chair easy glass swing tea watch
Give me an easy chair and a glass of tea and I can watch him swing the bat all day long.
