team thinking play
I just think a guy that knows how to play when you put him on a good team, he can be really good,
player nba oklahoma
(Oklahoma Thunder center Kendrick) Perkins doesn't like other NBA players.
basketball player effort
I'm looking for activity. I put players in and take them out based on effort and defense, not making or missing shots
player half defense
If you're a great defensive player, you're a great defensive player 100% of the time. You can't be a great defensive player half of the time because you didn't get the ball once or twice. That can't sidetrack you. It's got to be 'I live for my defense, and my offense I'll get. But I can't let it affect my defense. Nothing affects my defense.'
basketball player want
Good players want to be coached... Great players want to be told the truth
gave hold instead lead passive played score three took trying
We gave away so many opportunities with the turnovers. They didn't score on them, but they took us out of scoring. I thought we played so passive in all three of the overtimes once we got the lead. We were trying to hold on to the lead instead of being aggressive.
ball defense either felt game good gotten last nobody playing shot team tough
Even if we got it up court, we wouldn't have gotten a good shot off. It's a tough loss. The game felt like the last team who had the ball was going to score. Nobody was playing defense on either team.
benefit beyond chance consistent gets gives happens obvious playing situations
Beyond the obvious benefit of playing time, it gives us the chance to see where he's at. It will be interesting to see what happens when he gets the consistent minutes. I want to try and fit him into as many situations as possible.
desperate loose obviously played playing team
We were playing a team that was obviously playing desperate and you could see that play in them. We're loose and we played aggressive.
ask choose gets player standing
The thing a player has to ask himself: 'Do you want to choose winning over standing out?' Dwyane Wade made that choice, and I don't think he gets enough credit.
against game home hope lose obviously playing
Obviously a home game against Atlanta, you hope you can win. We're not playing well right now. It's frustrating to lose this game.
mean player ricky
Ricky is probably our second-best player on the team, but that doesn't mean he starts.
great player wait
That was such a great game. As a player I couldn't wait to play it.
besides defense fourth might nice played quarter ricky turned worst
It is nice when you are a scorer like Ricky and you can make a contribution in another way besides scoring. That first quarter might have been the worst defense we played all season, but they turned it around with the way (Davis and Pierce) played in the fourth quarter.
