next nice
When we do things like that we don't usually come back. So it was nice to come back, especially in that next inning.
bat night quotes repeat swing yesterday
I just repeat myself every night -- take my quotes from yesterday and write them down again. This is the big leagues, and my gosh, you have to swing the bat better than that.
last repeat
I just repeat myself every night. Just take what I said last night.
fifth start
I really wanted keep Gobble out there for the fifth but this was his first start and we wanted to keep him at about 60 pitches.
ball comfort gets guy hit jump true
I'll tell you, having a guy like that out there is such a comfort. He gets such a jump on the ball and can hit for power. He's a true professional.
losses quite shows somewhat team
I have to look at the one-run losses as somewhat of a positive. It shows that we're a team that has some character, we just don't have quite enough.
good news
I just know he's doing well. No news is good news, I guess.
couple determined safer
I just kind of determined it was safer to give him a couple more starts.
spring training
But he will go to Spring Training as a starter.
nine wrong
In the nine games, we're doing everything wrong that we were doing right when we were winning.
anyway decided guy instructed move runs smarter throw
In that situation, with a basestealer on first and a guy that runs on third, with his move he was instructed not to throw to first. But he decided to anyway because he's smarter than I am.
dwell evaluate guys home mirror move next terms themselves
In terms of our record, that's just something we have to live with and move on. We can't dwell on it. Some of the guys should feel good, some of them shouldn't feel so hot. If they go home and look in the mirror and evaluate themselves the way they should, we should be much better next year.
anybody hitting less runners score seemed sixth third
Before that (the sixth inning), we had a lot of opportunities. We just couldn't get anything across. Actually we couldn't get anybody to third with less than two outs. It seemed like we were always hitting with runners on first and second. To score runs, you have to get opportunities with runners on third and less than two outs. We haven't been able to do that much.
Hopefully, it is no more than a week.
