Al Grohis an American football analyst and former player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Wake Forest University from 1981 to 1986 and at the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2009, compiling a career college football coaching record of 85–92. There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run. Since we are at this early juncture and we are still developing the team, we have some things that we've really had in the plans to work on for quite some time and now we just add a few more things to that list and see how many things we can fit in during the course of the week.

Each team is different. Each team is doing different things at a different level, and each week is a different week. I don't make comparisons, and I think it's impossible to do so. But our team is what it is. It's giving the best that it's got. We're going to try to win every game that we can by as much as we can. If we can do that eight more times by one more point than the other guy's got, I think we'll all be quite satisfied with that.

The other thing that we had emphasized all week long was that it was everybody's job in this game to find a way to win. A lot of players had to step up individually and do that. Obviously the heart and the energy ? as well as the production ? that Marques provided us was just a tremendous punctuation point to the career that he's had at Virginia. He's been a special player for us in the things he's been able to do and how he's been able to energize this team.

Last week, we didn't really care what anybody said about us, ... We don't really care this week. We know what we have to do this week to keep it going. What we care about is winning and losing, and staying together as a team, and trying to play the kind of sound, solid, tough, aggressive football that we like to think is our trademark.
