game hard period shots substitute total work
Twenty-two shots is usually the whole game total for us. So for us to do that in one period was great. There's no substitute for hard work and that's what we were doing out there.
chances facing playing scoring sooner
We're not playing well defensively. Facing 30 or more scoring chances a game, something's going to go in sooner or later.
business matter
We're not in the business of figure-skating. It doesn't matter if you do a little better tonight. You play for points, and we just didn't get it done.
guy team
When one guy makes a mistake, it's like dominoes from there. We have to be better as a team and as individuals.
hard lately practice stuff time trying worried
It's all about trying to outwait the player. I haven't had much time to practice really hard lately and it showed on breakaways and stuff like that. But I'm not worried about it.
breaks consistent establish good playing relax tough win
It's tough to establish yourself. You just can't relax for a second. ... We've been playing well. Sometimes you get good breaks at home, but to win on a consistent basis, you have to be doing the right things, not just getting lucky.
again czech last medal olympics
For me, having a medal from the Olympics is great. If I never play again for the Czech team, I have a medal from the World Championship (gold last year) and now the Olympics.
coming deal dishes door european fight good learning plays puck shots toughest traffic
For European goalies coming over here the toughest thing is learning how to play the puck and deal with the traffic. You often have to fight through the traffic to see the puck. Those things you have to learn. Every European is usually good on breakaways and back door plays because we are so used to it. There are not as many shots back in Europe but (there are) a lot of back door dishes and plays around the net.
against canada four germany goals guy
Does one guy play against Germany and another against Canada? You can play against Germany and someone else and get two shutouts, or you could play against Canada, give up four goals and play great. How would you really decide?
control definitely dressing everybody hard people ready reason room
Everybody has to be accountable in the dressing room and you've got to do the job. You can only control what you can do. I don't know the reason why, but definitely some people just weren't ready or didn't play hard enough, that's just how it was. I don't know the reason.
great momentum nice records team together wins
It's nice to be a part of some history. Our team is a young team and we don't have a lot of records set. That's a lot of wins to put together in this league. It's a great momentum builder.
season time ups
It's a long season and there's going to be some ups and down. We have to keep our focus. This is not the time to panic.
life momentum shift
It's always a big momentum shift to give up a short-handed goal. Naturally, we showed a lot of life after that.
area desperate gets kings seem tough win
It should be something that gets addressed, but it doesn't seem like it is. It's tough to win when you take so many penalties. The Kings were desperate and they were better than us in every area of the game.
