believe good hope night ourselves point shot sure teams winning
Some teams aren't sure they can win. Some teams hope they can win, and some teams know, not just that they can win, but that they're going to win. I'm not sure we're there yet, but we really believe that every night we do give ourselves a real good shot at winning the game. That's part of the evolution. I'd like to get to the point where we know we can win.
choose goal heavy ourselves playing surprised teams within
What I'm surprised at is that we choose to let ourselves get down a goal or two before we ignite ourselves in the way we need to play. And that's a heavy consequence when you're playing teams that really know how to play within their structure. I'll be surprised if it continues.
built care coached league past puck sure taking teams
There are teams in the league and teams I've coached in the past for which the puck is inconsequential - we're not really built that way. We want the puck as much as we can. We want to make sure we are the ones taking care of it, not Pittsburgh.
coaching cover forces habits identify knew philosophy required staff work
I knew what kind of coaching staff I wanted because I knew how I like to work. I think we cover each other real well. We have a philosophy about the game, having not played, that forces us to really identify with the work habits required to get anywhere.
forgot honest
I kind of forgot about him. He was at the other end of the bench. That's the real honest answer.
informed leaving sure
I'm leaving that open. I want to make sure I make an informed decision.
intentions leaning toward
I'm leaning toward Henrik, but we'll see. Those are my intentions at this time.
coach hockey might
It was hormone hockey at it's best. It might have been entertaining, but for a coach it was a nightmare.
net pushed quite rebound sure tough
I'm not so sure we pushed the envelope, quite honestly. When you don't make it tough for the opponent, it's not real tough to defend. We didn't have a lot of net drive. We didn't have a lot of rebound opportunities.
flag nights ready wave white
I'm not ready to wave the white flag on . We will have better nights than tonight.
honest willing
I'm not really willing to put him in (tonight), to be honest with you. I'd like to see him (tomorrow) and see how he's making out.
angry becoming blow challenge closer hope obviously playoff respond step terrific
I'm not going to blow a gasket or anything like that. But I'm angry that we didn't respond to another terrific challenge for us - another step to becoming better and nailing down respect. And another step closer we obviously hope to a playoff spot.
european highly latitude learned lesson stars valuable vancouver
I learned a highly valuable lesson in Vancouver about European players. You have to give your stars . . . the latitude to do extraordinary things.
developing game home hope identified plays reputation solid team tough whether
I hope we're developing a reputation as a team that's tough to beat, whether at home or on the road. I hope that we're being identified as a team that plays a responsible game without the puck, that we are solid from the goaltender out.
