pride whatever win
We're going to do whatever we can to try to win games. So pride can go out the window.
defensive guys instead men mode offensive position scoring
When we get men into scoring position or on base, it's like we go into defensive mode instead of offensive mode. I don't know how to get guys out of it.
call
What he should do is call me. Not you.
hit messing start
We're doing fine. I'm not going to start messing around with guys' brains. In time, he'll hit cleanup. We've said that before.
I'll try to find a way to get him back in there tomorrow.
liked
I know it's early, but we've always liked the way he's thrown.
hammered throw
In this league, you're going to get hammered if you just throw fastballs.
fall hope means race sure until
I hope he doesn't get a start, because if he doesn't that means we're in the race until the end. But if we fall out of it, sure we'll take a look at that.
hope lingering
I just hope it's not a lingering thing.
base good handled himself hot personally playing third
I personally think he handles himself good when he's out there. He's a little more relaxed. Third base is a hot spot. He handled it fine, he did fine, but I think he handles playing out there a lot better.
bench games guys happy help ready stay thin
Being on the bench for these games won't help them get ready for season. We are thin at the infield spots, so we are very happy to have these guys stay here.
good great hands hurt quick seemed
Before he got hurt, he was a pretty good hitter. He had great hands and a very quick bat. He seemed to know what he was doing.
arm ball looks mechanical strength velocity
His arm strength looks good, his velocity is very good, but it's a mechanical thing just getting the ball down and locating the ball a little better.
coming easy fastball felt free good hand jumping location threw
His location is not there, obviously, as his fastball was jumping all over. But the ball was coming out of his hand good, he threw free and easy and felt no pain, so that's a good thing.
