backed exactly good year
This year he's been very, very solid. As good as they get in this league. We haven't exactly scored a lot of runs. We know that. But he's backed it up.
anybody bullpen protected ready september starting themselves throwing
We've protected our starting staff, so they're good, they're ready to go. We haven't let anybody kill themselves throwing 120 pitches, so we're set up for September pitching-wise, if our bullpen can maintain.
time year
We've probably had too many at the same time this year who've struggled.
balls miss played
We've played well defensively. We don't miss too many balls there.
hike paper understand whatever
Whatever you feel -- 'Who's got your back?' like I read in the paper -- it's not about that. It's about winning. And if you don't understand that, take a hike out of the clubhouse.
motivate time whatever
Whatever you can do to motivate yourself, do it at this time of year.
against anybody effort field fighting goal hard playing playoffs teams
We're playing against teams that are fighting for the playoffs and we're going to make every effort to get after it as hard as we can, ... My goal is not to let anybody clinch while we're on the field with them.
hits
When you have 13 hits and you've got no runs, there's not many explanations for it,
definitely difference
Without our 1-2 guys, that definitely makes a difference in our lineup.
bring bunch damage figured guys looking past respected role
We've had a bunch of young guys in that role in the past. He was looking for a job. We always respected him. He's done enough damage to us over the years, so we figured why not bring him over to our side.
carry gonna good pitching worried
We've got a good enough pitching staff. I'm not worried about them. I think they're pretty good, and I think they're gonna carry us as we go along.
ball exactly finally hard himself last pitches points time trying zone
Well, he got himself into it, so I can't exactly give him points for getting out. I think the last inning, he finally got some pitches down, but a lot were up. That's something we've been working on and really trying to get him to keep the ball down better in the zone and keep his angle. He had a hard time today. But he got through it and didn't implode.
everybody
We all got nervous. I think everybody did.
flip kid night side
Wow, what a performance. He was just unbelievable. He went right at them the whole night. Their kid did great, too. We've been on the flip side of that a lot.
