I hope my energy level will be high. If not, I'll try and find other ways as far as drawing off the crowd or certain situations, trying to get my energy where it needs to be,
I ponder to myself, this could be my last couple of starts or your last one. I'm trying to get everybody in here that wants to be a part of this and really share it with everyone. I never want to look back.
I ponder to myself, ... this could be my last couple of starts, or the last one. It was a real hard decision for me to continue to play because I felt I had touched just about every aspect of this game that I could. I never want to look back. I want to make sure that I put all my energy, all of my efforts into this game.
I'm excited about it because I never had the opportunity to do the Olympics.
I had the problem in the second inning and fought my way through that inning,
I had a problem in the second inning, and fought my way through that inning, ... I came up here as quick as I could to take my sleeve off and have them check it. ... The fluid already started to build up in my leg.
I'm very thankful for the opportunity to participate in this event. It made all the work I did the last six weeks worthwhile. . . . For me, right now, it's goodbye.
I'm trying to continue to keep that fire in my belly. It's games like this that can just rekindle that.
I needed a couple of weeks to see where my body was going to be and get my mind right for this.

So I've been traveling back and forth and I thought at one point she would be able to battle back a little bit, but this one wasn't looking good. I went back up there (Tuesday), spent the evening with her and most of this morning. I feel very blessed that she's at peace now because the last 10 years was hard on her and the last two to three days were grueling. But she was very tough to the end.
It was great. They should have let her stay on the mound. She had better stuff than I had,
It was great to see. That kid, I don't know if his feet ever touched the ground.
These people in greater Metropolitan Houston wanted him to play and recruited him, and it made a difference, ... And people seemed to totally and completely understand that he was doing it for the city and the community. And they've never forgotten that. So they adopted him, and he adopted them. And it hasn't hurt that he's performed remarkably for two years.
