best depth free pass people special starters though
Our starters aren't going to get a free pass not to be on special teams. Even though we have more depth and some people who can do things, our best people are going to play on our special teams.
backs bit effort everybody expected guys job line offensive pass playing pride regardless running work
Everybody has to take a bit more pride and effort that the No. 1 job of the offensive line and running backs is pass protection. You don't want that quarterback to be touched. You have to work to do that. Regardless of how many first-year guys we have in the offensive line, they're playing and that's the job they're expected to do.
base install passing running trying
You're not game-planning for your defense. You're just trying to install your base protections, your base running plays, your base passing plays.
academic corporate fly gets jet license passion rent standpoint tremendous wants
Shane has got a tremendous passion to be a pilot. It's not something that he could do here from an academic standpoint so he's going to be going down there because he wants to be a corporate pilot. I told him that when he gets his license we'll rent a corporate jet and he can fly me around or something.
equally guy pass run
We'd like to get him up to about 250. He's a guy that has the athleticism to play the run and play the pass equally well.
equally guy pass run
We'd like to get him up to about 250, ... He's a guy that has the athleticism to play the run and play the pass equally well.
continue five game passing practice practicing running weeks
He's been practicing the same plays, the same game plan, through those first five weeks that we were doing with Matt. We're going to just continue to go the way that we have been going. He can do the things we want in the running game and he can do the things we want in the passing game. Now we've just got to go and practice those things and let him do what we feel he can do the best.
ability athletic based best felt guys head line looking next passion spring strength tackle work
He's demonstrated to me to have the best work ethic. He has the most passion of the next best tackle that I think we have on our team. He has the size, the strength and the athletic ability we're looking for. I just felt as we head into spring that he's going to line up there. It's based on what he's done and what other guys didn't do.
knew
We knew we were going to play him as a linebacker,
kids program success tasted
This program has tasted success and what these kids want to do is keep that rolling.
address liked needed position
We really liked what we had on our roster. I just didn't feel the quarterback position was something we needed to address this year.
ball difference field good job mike seeing
Other than seeing the ball go down the field a little more, I don't think there's a whole lot of difference in what they're doing, ... The times Mike Teel has been in playing, he's done a good job for them.
coming early mark maybe people showcase since watching work
I think coming out early like that, he has to really try and showcase himself, especially since he didn't get to go to the combines. He's got to make his mark out there with people watching him and maybe they'll work him out a little further.
coaches confidence confident help players poise
I think he'll do fine. His confidence and poise will be fine. Those are things we as coaches have to help him with this week. I'm confident in his abilities. Our coaches are confident in him and I know our players will be confident in him.
