although guys hard might pitch roger runs scoring shame trouble trying
We've had trouble scoring runs this season, period. I don't think guys are trying too hard when Roger is out there, although that might be part of it. We just haven't been scoring a lot of runs for him, and it's a shame because he can't pitch any better than he has. He has just been unbelievable.

We've had trouble scoring runs this season, period, ... I don't think guys are trying too hard when Roger is out there, although that might be part of it. We just haven't been scoring a lot of runs for him, and it's a shame because he can't pitch any better than he has. He has just been unbelievable.
division fifth game innings last ready roger saw series somewhere surprise taken
Roger is fine. He's fine. He's ready and able to go. . . . You saw him in the last game in the Division Series and he had his spikes on somewhere in the fifth inning. And if it had taken 10 innings or 20, he would have pitched 10 or 20. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
fifth game pitching roger
Roger Clemens is pitching the fifth game right now,
announced fighting guys lay major rocket roger wait worried
I'm not worried about that. I don't think that will be a major issue. I don't see that we would lay back and wait on Roger to make a decision. I think guys are going to be out there fighting to win, even if Rocket announced his retirement.
andy bit figure five fortunate games knew roger rotten season
I knew we weren't a 15-under-.500 team. When the season started, I thought we were probably five games over .500. Then, if we got a little bit lucky, I thought we could be 10 games over. I think we're fortunate to be 14 over .500 because we didn't figure on Andy Pettitte (17-9, 2.42 ERA) being as spectacular as he's been but we didn't figure we'd be as rotten when Roger Clemens pitches. Go figure.
carpenter hard keeps roger tough vote
It's going to be hard not to vote for Carpenter. If Roger keeps going like he's going and Carpenter keeps going like he's going, it's going to be a tough call.
break giving good pitchers score
We have to break out. We have to score some runs. Our pitchers have been giving us good enough games. We have to buckle down.
type
When you play these type of games, they're going to be close. That's why you've got to know what you're doing and execute. We didn't execute.
crucial giving goes months pitch tend three
When you have 7, 8 and 9-inning guys, you tend to pitch them in such crucial points, ... When they give up a run, it usually hurts, but you can't go three months without giving up a run. Wheeler goes big stretches without giving up anything.
absolute change difficult faith field losing people personnel requires turn
When you go into an organization that's been losing and you try to change the culture, it's a difficult job. It requires absolute faith from ownership. You've got to do some things on the field with your personnel that people don't like. But you've got to do it if you're going to turn it around.
control good simple win
We've got to buckle down and play some good ball. We're still in control of our own desitny. If we can't win it, we can't win it. It's simple as that.
demon hanging
We've just got this demon hanging over our head, and it's a zero.
expect follow game medical orders plan position
We will follow the doctor's orders. Every day, we'll have a game plan that is a medical game plan for him so that we don't expect something from him or put him in a position that he shouldn't be in. We will follow the doctor's orders on this medical rehab, and then we'll see where he goes.
