extent good point
To this point it's probably a good thing he hasn't had to do that. To what extent he could do it if he had to throw, I don't know.
expect eye good hit home runs strength
I don't think his strength is there. To expect him to hit home runs would be optimistic. He still has a good eye at the plate. He still has quickness.
against ball changing good hits job pitching sharp team
I don't think he was as sharp as he's going to be, but for pitching against a team that hits the ball well, he battled through it. He did a good job of changing things.
changed confident determined last playing wants
I don't think he's much changed from last year. He's a very confident player. I just think he's more determined now because he wants more playing time.
assess games goal win
This was a big win for us. But our goal is to get 15 games over .500 and then assess where we are.
amount game good hoping needs pitch time
This will be good for Brandon. He had a good amount of time off. I'm hoping he's healthy, and I think he will be. He needs to go out to pitch like it's the first game of the World Series.
roy tone
What Roy did tonight, he set a tone right from the get-go,
players spots strut
What players should do up here, even if there's no spots available, (is) strut your stuff. This is where you show what you can do.
enables fourth gives pitchers position strong third
What Mulder has done is really solidify their rotation. It enables them to put pitchers in a third and fourth position that they would like and it gives them a very strong rotation.
eight runs score seven
We don't score a lot of runs a lot of times. We don't score seven or eight runs a lot.
brad failed feeling hit knows walk
You have to let Edmonds hit the ball. You can't walk him. Brad knows that. We were feeling pretty good, but you have to play every out. We failed to play every out tonight.
confidence corrected figured guys level mechanical quite results shoots simple tune
With guys like him that are so in tune with their swings, they know something's off, and it can be something quite as simple as the hands. Once they get it figured out, the confidence level shoots way up and once their confidence level shoots up and they've corrected the mechanical flaws, you can get results like this.
couple game gotten points turned
When you look back, there were a couple of points during the game where it could have gotten real close. It turned out OK, but I thought it was going to be real easy.
certainly pieces
We certainly have depth. That's one of the plusses, and we have pieces we can move.
