I'm concerned, ... When you play against good competition, those can be factors that set the tempo of the game for you. That has happened to us in the past three weeks. Hopefully we can rid ourselves of that. But I'm not dwelling on it, or thinking that it is the kind of team we are.
Matt can hang in those (Hollywood) settings, but he doesn't thrive or dwell on that. It's just because he's in L.A. He's a local kid that's done great. He decided to stay in school and became famous because of that, as well as the other stuff.
The history really doesn't have anything to do with how we play, so that's not a big point for me to dwell on. But it is fun for everybody.
I'm sure the place is going to be nuts -- it's a tremendous place to play,
I'm proud that we're showing how important it is to have well-rounded kids in this program, kids who want to play football at the highest level and also want to take care of their academics. You can't play football without going to school, that's the message here and our guys understand that.
It's so common for people to think that once you've accomplished something to get complacent. But I don't see that in any of our players. I don't see it in Matt.
It's so great to be standing in front of you representing what this university has always been about: winning championships, national championships.
It's so frustrating for him. He's been waiting for his chance. I feel terrible for him.
It's not exactly how you'd like it, ... but when you play a top-10 team, you have to expect it.
That happened in a flash. He was up and over him. I don't even know how you can measure that time frame. He has extraordinary reactions.
That is what it takes to disrupt a rhythm.
It was just an OK game for us. But we got through the first game. Now we go watch the tape, go back to work. About a month from now we should be all right.
They will not let it die, ... They won't call it over.
I want to see him get command of the situational stuff. I thought he handled it fine.
