My goal is definitely a gold medal. I always have high expectations for myself. I'm seeded second in both events, but my goal is gold for both. But it will definitely be a close race in both of my events.

Maybe it was control in the strike zone today, ... I left a lot of balls over the plate and they did what you are supposed to do with balls over the plate. I didn't execute the pitches the way I needed to, and they didn't let me off the hook.

Maybe it took me a while to really understand that. But I do understand it now, and if anything, you're more resolute and more determined and more, to be honest with you, downright ticked off to get this thing done.

No, I don't really care. Either way, it's going to be a tough game. Whoever it is, I'm just glad we get to play it at our place. It will be fun to watch and let everybody beat each other up.

When you come in, you kind of see all these guys who are tremendous athletes. In high school you don't see that many good athletes. I think I am going to have to work at it every day at practice and get better each day. I can't make the same mistakes twice that I made the day before.
