Edward Richard DeChellisis an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at the United States Naval Academy. Previously he was the head coach at Penn State from 2003-2011 and at East Tennessee State from 1996-2003. At Penn State, DeChellis led the Nittany Lions to an NIT Title in 2009 and a NCAA Tournament berth in 2011. It was hard the first two years trying to get guys to believe we could win. Guys left who didn't believe we could win or didn't want to win. We're a very young team. We're loaded with freshmen and sophomores in terms of numbers, but I think we're finally starting to coach and put some things together.

He's starting to understand how hard he has to play and the intensity level. He's making shots, which has given him some confidence, and he's blocked some shots as well.

He's just a force inside. I don't think anybody's really done a great, great job of handling him. We've just got to make it tough for him to get the ball, try to limit his touches with the basketball. And then when the shot goes up, somebody better get a body on him.
athletic guys notice until watch
He's one of those guys that you don't really notice until you watch them. He's 6-foot-5 and as athletic as they come.

Geary just plays hard. That's something that you'd think is a given, but it's not a given all the time. He just makes the basketball plays that sometimes aren't on the stat sheet, but are still really important.
