bottom chase four game games gives line rest
The bottom line now is that every game is a must-win game the rest of the way. We're down four games to Philadelphia with 13 to play. It's not going to be easy, but it gives us something to chase after the rest of the season.
desperate loose obviously played playing team
We were playing a team that was obviously playing desperate and you could see that play in them. We're loose and we played aggressive.
backward guys hopefully step stuff taken team unless win
We're going to win the division, ... If we don't, we've taken a step backward unless our young guys have done something where you can see hope. But I'm going to tell you this, and hopefully it won't be often: That young team stuff is not going to be used as a crutch. OK, we're young. So what?
bunch games lost shots time winning
It was about time one of those went for us. We've lost a bunch of games on shots like that. Now, of late, we are winning them and things like that are going our way.
games good hang lost road scenario tough
(The win) was huge. You know going out on the road having lost two tough ones (if we lost this one) would not have been a good scenario for us. At least we know we can hang in games and win.
guys rich wealthy win
The rich get richer. It's always the wealthy guys that win those games.
calm deserved felt last owed played
Another calm night. I think we deserved that one after the last two times that we played them. We felt we stole this one tonight. But we felt they stole two from us, so we owed them that one.
basketball deserves far hell tim
Duncan deserves everything he gets, as far as I'm concerned. It's frustrating guarding Tim Duncan even if they think he's not getting the calls. He's a hell of a basketball player.
best change changed coverage defensive eight four last normally san seven team three
San Antonio is the best defensive team in the last seven or eight years. They don't normally change things, but they changed their (defensive) coverage three or four times in that game. It didn't work, unfortunately.
broken spirit
We had our spirit broken and never got back into the game.
ball defense either felt game good gotten last nobody playing shot team tough
Even if we got it up court, we wouldn't have gotten a good shot off. It's a tough loss. The game felt like the last team who had the ball was going to score. Nobody was playing defense on either team.
benefit beyond chance consistent gets gives happens obvious playing situations
Beyond the obvious benefit of playing time, it gives us the chance to see where he's at. It will be interesting to see what happens when he gets the consistent minutes. I want to try and fit him into as many situations as possible.
floor great middle player shot sideline stay
I wanted him to stay more in the middle of the floor because we thought if he went to the sideline they would be able to double. And they actually did, and he still got the shot off. That was just a great player making a great shot.
game glass great needed ryan terror win work
Ryan has been great for us and he's just a terror on the backboard. Not only did we need his glass work but we needed his quickness. Without Ryan Gomes, we don't win this game tonight.
