effect entire grant hill people time understand
I said it the entire time I was here: I don't think people understand the effect of not having Grant Hill on the floor. They don't. They didn't when I was here, and they don't now. And it's too bad.
bench clock hurt late lost shots third timely watching
It was a hard-fought game. They made some timely shots, late clock shots did us in. I thought the third quarter, the one stretch, just really, really hurt us. I thought we really lost our intensity. We started watching them play for a while. And I thought that really hurt us. And our bench has to do something for us.
confidence days focus focused guys loss obviously seem snap spend time today tougher trying work
It's tougher obviously after a loss because guys are down emotionally. On days after a loss sometimes you've really got to snap their focus in. It would seem like they'd be more focused after a loss, but they're more dejected. Their confidence is down. You spend have the time trying to work them into it. Today we didn't have to do that.
extremely guys heard time
You heard their voices. Our young guys were extremely verbal. It's the first time we heard their voices.
ball basket catch designed hand happened knew left luck momentum run time trying
It wasn't designed for me, ... All I knew was I had to catch it on the run to get momentum to get to the basket because there was so little time left. When the ball left my hand I knew it was good, but I thought it was a swish. I was not trying to use the glass. But it happened and luck was with me.
bunch games lost shots time winning
It was about time one of those went for us. We've lost a bunch of games on shots like that. Now, of late, we are winning them and things like that are going our way.
bring create run stretch stuff time trying
We're trying to run more stuff, and more importantly down the stretch you can see we were just trying to create stuff on the fly. Every time there was a break, I had to bring Wally over.
minutes putting time understand
I do understand putting them all in at the same time is dangerous. I don't really care. I'm still going to do it right now. I think they need to get out there and play minutes so I'm going to keep doing it.
drive hands intentions office played playing ran ready reason saying shoes starting time
I had no intentions of playing him. I didn't think he wanted to play. But he ran into my office with his shoes in his hands saying he was ready to go. The only reason I played him was because he was starting at me every freaking time out. I told the coaches, we have to put him in, or he's going to drive me nuts.
bet care changes hate league next start takes time tough turn
If you make a lot of changes in this league and even if they can play, it takes time for it to work. Then when you start losing, the snowball starts. I don't care who you are, it's tough to turn around. I would hate to see them next year, even if they make no changes. I would bet you that they'd be much better.
gets
When he gets it going like that, I don't know what you can do.
everybody great job pitch
With Wally going out, everybody had to just pitch in. Everyone did a great job of it.
close pierce reason
Pierce is one big reason for (winning close games) and Gomes has been on an unbelievable roll.
execution fights-and-fighting kept proud teach using
I was happy. I was proud of our young guys. They just kept fighting. I was using it to teach execution to young guys.
