building chemistry group mainly simplify stay trying work
We're not trying to make a lot of changes. We're mainly trying to simplify things and work on building chemistry in the clubhouse. This group is pretty well low-maintenance. For the most part I've just been trying to stay out of the way.
committed continue count decent himself looks needs seems work year
He seems committed to getting himself in decent shape. Health-wise he looks good. He needs to continue to work on his conditioning, so we can count on him being there all year long.
concerned hits loses needs pitch pitches stamina work
I'm just concerned about his stamina and durability. He needs to work on getting up his pitch count. He hits 50 pitches and just kind of loses it.
next nice
When we do things like that we don't usually come back. So it was nice to come back, especially in that next inning.
cautious hoping starters
We're hoping our starters give us more innings. All indications are they will. We want to be cautious with our bullpen.
care few personal rather sooner taking
We have no idea when he's going to be back. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later. He's taking care of a few things, and I can't really say any more than that. It's a personal matter.
We have some depth. It just makes it that much more competitive. There are a lot of openings.
baseball heart games
It's amazing what you can do in this game with a heart and a brain
quite throwing woody
Woody wasn't throwing at him. But, quite frankly, Doug did what he had to do to keep things from escalating.
pitch walk
Walk A-Rod? And pitch to Giambi? How about that one?
count kids pitch strict
We have a real strict pitch count for these young kids and he was at 97. We were going to let him go between 95 and 100.
count kids pitch strict younger
We have a really strict pitch count for these younger kids.
consistent overall results strike
Results are everything, I guess. Denny just has to be more consistent in the strike zone. Overall he was good, but could be better.
biggest issue pitching whether
Pitching wasn't the biggest issue. We know he can pitch. It's a durability issue and whether he maintains his stuff.
