It's all about pitching. If you get good pitching, you have a chance, and they've got some hitting over there, too. It doesn't happen overnight, but it's not what you would call a huge surprise. I could see it progressing.

You're not going to win a lot of games when you get five hits and one run. Offensively, we've just struggled more than you'd like to see.

I'll tell you, having a guy like that out there is such a comfort. He gets such a jump on the ball and can hit for power. He's a true professional.

Before that (the sixth inning), we had a lot of opportunities. We just couldn't get anything across. Actually we couldn't get anybody to third with less than two outs. It seemed like we were always hitting with runners on first and second. To score runs, you have to get opportunities with runners on third and less than two outs. We haven't been able to do that much.

He's not hitting yet but doing everything else. He'll hit this weekend and hopefully, we'll get him back against Detroit.

I'm just concerned about his stamina and durability. He needs to work on getting up his pitch count. He hits 50 pitches and just kind of loses it.

It was the other extreme, but a guy like Santana can do that to you. He can make things look real lethargic. The game just didn't have a flow to it.
