We're definitely upset about that game. We feel like we let that one slip. We wanted to play them again sooner. But it's finally here. I'm looking forward to it.
That was the smoothest, easiest 25 I've had this year. I wasn't fighting against any of my teammates to get points. I was just kind of rolling in the offense. And Jamaal got his.
I feel terrible for him. They were having a real good season, and he was a huge part of it. I always enjoy playing against USC at its best.
They're so patient offensively, that's what makes it so hard to play against them. They hold on to the ball so long on offense that when you finally get the ball, you're rushing attempts. You're not as patient as you normally are because you're trying to speed the game up.
They're going to stay packed in and try to force you to make jump shots. That's something we've been working on all week, going against a zone and a sagging man-to-man and making sure we still penetrate and don't just settle for outside shots.
He's made me a better player over four seasons. All summer, we played pick-up basketball and we'd match up against one another. When I penetrate to the basket, there are times when he stops me. His ability to guard big men and small guys definitely helps.
We just totally turned the page on that Thursday game. It was important not to come in here and worry about making shots, and we did a good job of that.
We're going to be a threat, inside and out.
I've seen where you can score 35 in two games in a row, and once you lose, you can't get it.
It was welcome back, Mike. It's fun having him out there because he stretches out the defense so much.
It would have been really special if he had come here. We would have been really good.
There's something about late in the game that's when I feel like I'm at my best.
Right now, we don't have very good chemistry offensively.
Practices are like they were in January. He's definitely stepped it up a lot more. We're not going to the tournament just happy to be there. We're past that level.
