beating conference league played shown stay teams tough year
It's a very tough league and the way our teams have played all year and now with everyone beating each other in conference play it will only stay that way. This league has shown its mettle over the long haul.
ending loss telling undoing
It's a disappointing ending and loss for us today. You can look at a lot of different stats. But nothing is more telling than 24 turnovers. That was our undoing this afternoon.
aggressive anybody front game listen listened looked playing prior stay team whether worry
I told him prior to (the Northwestern) game - in front of the team - that it was important for him to stay aggressive, and I wanted him to listen to me and not worry about anything or anybody else, to be aggressive on the floor. Whether or not he listened to me, he looked like he was playing pretty well.
arena home outside respect team
We have respect for their team and their program. They've been able to do something we haven't done to get here, and that's go outside their home arena and win.
credit played
We had breakdowns. You have to give them credit for how they played tonight.
break challenge defend easy shots tried
We tried to challenge their shots and not give them any easy shots. We were able to defend and not break down.
veteran work
We're an older, veteran team. Sometimes, that can work in your favor.
fought held home michigan proud seniors serve veterans
We held serve at home and I'm really proud of our seniors and our veterans the way we fought back. And I can't say enough about Michigan State.
game saw
There are things in this game that are contagious. And you saw that today.
basketball grow love michigan position
We've been able to grow together. I love that about this group. They've done a lot to be able to put Michigan basketball in the position it deserves, which is a winning, first-class program.
opportunity review situations
We're going to review those situations when we get the opportunity to do so.
concerning face played team tournament won
We're going to face a team that has played in the tournament and won in the tournament. That's one of the things that is concerning me.
control cry fights-and-fighting happened harris help obviously team took word
We can cry about that if that's the right word to use, but nonetheless we have to keep fighting. I don't know if that's what happened with our team (when the Buckeyes took control with Harris out). But obviously it didn't help us to have him go down.
bail break brought certainly defend defense defensive fortunate job missed shots together
We brought our defense together where we were able to defend and not break down and not bail them out. They missed some shots and we were fortunate for that and certainly I thought we did a better job on the defensive glass.
