admirable choice elevate point
If he can elevate to the point where we have no choice, then it's possible. If he comes in and does an admirable job, then probably not.
high repertoire shot slap
If he's going to dress, then I have high expectations. He can shoot. He may not be able to do the one-timer thing or the slap shot but that's never really been a part of his repertoire anyway.
chance earlier expectation felt happening reasonable year
I felt we had a reasonable chance of making the playoffs. Earlier in the year when this (success) was happening to us, it was pretty neat. We have an expectation now.
kid
If I hadn't scouted this kid in juniors, I'd probably be a little more skeptical.
along kid scouts
If I hadn't scouted this kid along with our other scouts when he was in juniors, I'd probably be a little more skeptical. But he's such a competitor.
effort hockey player second third
He's an intelligent hockey player who always has a second and third effort to his game.
decisions jump penalty poor pressured puck
I don't think that we pressured well in our own end. I thought we made poor decisions on our penalty kill as to when to jump and when not to jump in and pressure the puck carrier.
almost baggage series shift work
I don't see us pressing, I don't see us having psychological baggage in our room. We have to work our way back in this series almost a shift at a time.
call fact honest huge matter maybe obligation special year
I don't want to call it nervous, maybe a little apprehensive. They just feel this huge obligation to be something real special this year when the fact of the matter is the only thing that's made us special is just hard, honest work.
net pushed quite rebound sure tough
I'm not so sure we pushed the envelope, quite honestly. When you don't make it tough for the opponent, it's not real tough to defend. We didn't have a lot of net drive. We didn't have a lot of rebound opportunities.
flag nights ready wave white
I'm not ready to wave the white flag on . We will have better nights than tonight.
honest willing
I'm not really willing to put him in (tonight), to be honest with you. I'd like to see him (tomorrow) and see how he's making out.
angry becoming blow challenge closer hope obviously playoff respond step terrific
I'm not going to blow a gasket or anything like that. But I'm angry that we didn't respond to another terrific challenge for us - another step to becoming better and nailing down respect. And another step closer we obviously hope to a playoff spot.
european highly latitude learned lesson stars valuable vancouver
I learned a highly valuable lesson in Vancouver about European players. You have to give your stars . . . the latitude to do extraordinary things.
