certainly close gap gives
Certainly we would like to close the gap between us and do it in a way that gives them something to think about going forward. We certainly see enough of them down the stretch.
break confident good losing playoffs streak
I'm confident they'll play better. Just like I was confident we'd break a six-game losing streak and I'm confident we'll make the playoffs and I'm confident we'll do good things once we get there.
choose dandy fall fine game grab guys hard head honorable invite jump opponent penalty requires rules seen skate somebody straight time trying turn within
If somebody is trying to play you straight up and play the game within the rules and that's physical, I have a hard time with those that choose to turn and invite the hit, which they do, then fall down and grab their head. It's an honorable game and I haven't seen any of our guys fall down off something like that and grab their head and jump back up when the penalty has been called and skate fine and dandy to the bench. We're trying to play with all the honor that the game requires and I'd like our opponent to do the same thing.
against gate good ground
If you don't come out the gate well you stumble. Then you have to try and make up ground against good teams.
minutes team
In the first 10 minutes something was amiss with our team and our approach. We got it going finally, but at the end of the day the better team won.
himself push
He started to push himself as he got more comfortable with the brace.
reading sports
I don't think so. Not if they're reading Sports Illustrated.
asked careful cut days decisions general morning practice reasons relatively schedule team
I don't think so. I've asked myself the same question. We've really been careful in how we schedule our days off. Many of those are kind of spontaneous decisions to cut out a practice here or a morning skate. I think we've done the right things. I think one of the reasons we've been relatively injury-free is because of our general team fitness.
contender continue cup games next people stanley surprise
I don't know if we're a Stanley Cup contender right now but I think we can continue to surprise a lot of people by what we do these next 20 games and the playoffs.
attention beaten details games hang might nice ourselves pay ultimately win
I didn't think we were real sharp, real crisp (early in the game), and if we weren't careful, we might have beaten ourselves tonight. But we did hang in there and we did pay attention to details that can win you games and ultimately got ourselves a nice lead.
appear
He's uncomfortable, but it doesn't appear to be too bad.
effort hockey player second third
He's an intelligent hockey player who always has a second and third effort to his game.
listen proactive
We don't want to be too proactive getting him back into the lineup. We have to listen to his body.
afford cannot game growing growth heads hockey hurry stunted tonight
We really do have to get our heads around the way the game is being called. We're growing up in a hurry here, and we cannot afford to play hockey like we did tonight or our growth will be stunted in a real hurry.
