guys stuff turn whenever
Whenever I look at the Reds stuff in the paper, the guys tell me to turn the page.
appreciate balls blew bomb families giving guys iraqi kids sadness soccer
One of the guys was giving soccer balls to the Iraqi kids and bam - a bomb blew up. All of the guys' families were there, and some of the mothers, you could see the sadness in their eyes. It just makes you appreciate what those guys are doing over there, it really makes you think.
believe career funny game great guys help older players point reached responsibility seems work younger
One of the great things about the game is how the older players are there to help the young guys along. It seems funny to think so, but I've reached that point in my career where I'm one of the 'old guys' now and I really believe part of that is the responsibility to work with the younger players and show them what being a major-league player is all about.
developed emotions good guys human mixed relationships
There are still mixed emotions. Everything I've done as a big leaguer has been with the Reds. I see those guys over there. I'm a human being. I like the guys in the Pirates' clubhouse. They've been good to me. But I developed a lot of relationships over there, too.
drive fair guys hits share start timing
We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.
dominating guys league reason special
He's one of those special guys in the league with dominating stuff. It's the reason why Houston's back in the race.
deal good guys half job pinch playing size tried
Size was a big deal for them, especially with their big guys playing like they did. We tried to pinch them in on the ends, but that didn't work. We didn't do a good job of that in the first half and that was the game.
fine took typical
I don't think he took it too well at first. But hey, he's a typical 15-, 16-year-old. I think he's fine with it.
pitchers series shut
This was a frustrating series for us. Their pitchers really shut us down.
elevator faces meet people time
Every time I got on the elevator in the hotel, I'd meet people who had evacuated. You could see on their faces that they were distraught.
life
I am going where life is more like life than it is here.
afford average
Obviously, we can afford to give more than the average person, but $10 or $20 will help.
career couple days guy lesson nature plays stunned took
I was stunned -- stunned. To tell you the truth, I thought I was going to be that guy who plays his whole career with one team, but that's just not reality. It's not the nature of the business. It was a lesson for me, but it took me a couple days to get over it.
asked campaign district everybody issue judgement national obviously people trust wayne works
Obviously the message, or the brand, or what you see it won't be consistent. But it isn't a big issue. If it was a big issue Wayne would be asked to do what everybody else is doing. He and his people know what works in that district and the P.E.I. campaign and the national campaign trust his judgement on these things.
