best definitely last olympic skaters sort stay step time tough
It's definitely tough to know you're going to be the last one. It's the best skaters in the world, it's the Olympic Games, it's 11:30 at night. But you just sort of stay in your own world, take it one step at a time and stay strong.
performance silver tried
It's bittersweet. I tried hard, I have no regrets. For that performance, silver is generous.
enjoy evolved figured fun learned love lucky situation training trust worry
I've just kind of evolved in the way I think. I learned to just enjoy it. I feel really lucky to do what I do, be in the situation I'm in, and I love it. I'm going to have fun out there and trust my training and not worry, because I've figured out the worry doesn't help.
competing last learned since time
I've learned a lot since last time around. You learn a lot about yourself, about competing and training.
gold special storage
I've got a lot of silvers in different shoeboxes in storage units all over the place. But I think the gold one will have a special place.
icing means rewarded skate top
It's wonderful. It means so much to skate well, and then be rewarded on top of that is icing on the cake.
best build holding last prepare realized
The best way I can prepare is to build up and be my best. What I've realized over the last two years is the only thing holding me back from being my best is me.
anybody short square starting three top
It's going to be like starting over. Like the short didn't really count. Back to square one. It's kind of like the old system. Anybody in the top three can win.
believed difficult skate stayed step strong took
It was difficult to skate at the end after so many strong performances and I just took it one step at a time. I stayed strong and I believed in myself.
checked excited fact gives jumps system weight works
It works well for my skating. I like the fact it gives weight to spins and jumps that were only checked off (under the 6.0 system). I'm really excited for the new system at Nationals.
great knows nice relaxing season wait
It's been very nice and very relaxing to be back in California. And Mr. Nicks knows me so well. I'm in a great situation, and I can't wait to get the season started.
hard icon people top
It kind of humanizes the sport. She's been an icon of the sport. To see that people can be at top of the sport and also have hard times, it humanizes the sport.
best chance earn everybody girls hard job olympic pick skaters spot three worked
It's hard for the girls here and everybody has worked so hard to earn a spot on the team. But it's the U.S. Olympic Committee's job to pick the three skaters who have the best chance at the Olympics.
audience enjoy fun involved judges performance tried
I tried to enjoy it and just make it happen. It's a really fun program, playful. It's about getting involved with the audience -- the judges and spectators. I enjoy the performance part.
