Ronald Andrew Zookis an American football coach and former player. He served as the head football coach at the University of Florida from 2002 to 2004 and the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign from 2005 to 2011. Right now, we're undefeated. I'm more excited about a spring than I've been in a long, long time. (But) we've got a long way to go. We're a little bigger, a little stronger, hopefully a little quicker. We've helped ourselves with the seven (new) guys that are in here right now and the younger guys are a little more mature in how they handle themselves.

We had opportunities to stand up and make plays and we just didn't do it. I'm tired of it. I know the coaches are tired of it, and I know a lot of guys in that locker room are tired of it.

It wasn't my first consideration, ... But it was a consideration. It's particularly important when you're going into a new league of this caliber where you've got guys that have been in it and coached in it. There's definitely a respect anytime you know what a team is about or what a team can do and you know the personnel a little bit. It's very, very important.

It's been different for them. Normally these guys would be walking the halls and talking to girls. When they're really going to be glad they did this is in August when the rest of the freshmen come to practice.

A lot of guys would get into his situation and their confidence would be shot and it would hard to get anything out of them. But he was able to forget it all and I'm proud of him for that.

I don't think there's any question that we were a better football team this week than we were last week. It's important that we played a lot of people. We're going to need those guys down the road.

I knew that Rutgers was much improved, ... They're a veteran club and experienced, and I didn't realize they're as athletic as they are. I know a lot of their guys from recruiting, so I know they're talented.

These guys are in as good a shape as they've ever been in their lives, there's no question about that. What happens is the expectation is that we're going to go out, we're going to go through practice and just get through it. As far as we've got to go, we can't do that. In my mind the game's tomorrow. It's not in September; it's tomorrow.
