bases days few outfield playing proves run starts
Once he starts playing the outfield and proves to us that he can run the bases and play the outfield a few days in a row, then we'll see where he's at.
allowing best breaking eventually hit outfield protect slowly
I want to protect him the best I can and we'll go from there. He's doing the drills and he's doing fine, but I don't want to kill him. I think breaking him in slowly by allowing him to hit and then eventually getting him into the outfield is the right thing to do.
legs outfield
We need to get him able to play the outfield and let him get his legs back.
knee outfield run
He's going to run around in the outfield and see if his knee swells up. So we're guarded. I'm just in a wait-and-see to see how he does.
beaten guy leaders-and-leadership lost needs outfield people step
He's one of our leaders. We lost a lot of people this year. Our outfield has been beaten up pretty bad. And Jacque is the one guy who needs to step up, and he's been doing that.
bench coming cover everyday mind outfield playing puts ripping starts
If he starts ripping the cover off the ball, that always puts a thought in your mind to keep him. Playing everyday in the outfield is a better thing for him right now, so one thing I don't want is him here coming off the bench and being a pinch-hitter.
dugout fun game good loved manage manages playing watching
I loved watching Ozzie manage in the other dugout and he manages just like he played. He had fun playing the game and he manages having fun and that's the way we should all try to do it. I think he set a pretty good tone.
bet forget people sure talking throughout year
I'm sure there'll be a lot of people talking throughout the year about Puck. You can bet that we won't ever forget him.
deal hoping season spring start sure tough
I'm sure hoping it's not going to be like that all year. That would be a tough thing to have to deal with. That's why you take precautions now in Spring Training, so once you start season everyone is healthy.
people sure wrong
I'm sure he'll get votes. If he doesn't get votes, then the wrong people are voting.
along doubt later sure
I'm sure he'll come along and say he can hit. I don't doubt that a bit. If we need him to go out there later in the game, he'll go out there.
ball fans minnesota painful sure twins
I'm sure Minnesota Twins fans are hurting. It's very painful right now. We all know where Puck's going to be: He's going to be up there whacking the ball in Heaven. So we're going to be OK.
came camp confidence goes liked wide
I liked the way he came back up with confidence. I think (the job) is wide open, but he goes into camp as the front-runner.
spinning truth
I'm kind of spinning a little bit, to tell you the truth.
