help plays psyche
Dennis Northcutt was able to come in and make some plays that will help his psyche because I know he was a little down.
ball today wants yards
Antonio always wants the ball. He got the ball today and made some plays. Congratulations to him on getting 1,000 yards because that is a big accomplishment.
chance defense lucky might shut
This defense has a chance to be effective. We might not shut out anybody, we might be lucky to win, but we have a defense installed.
adequate backup feels jeff line
(Offensive line coach) Jeff (Davidson) feels he's an adequate backup and if he has to go in there, he'll do the job.
defense hang hat last throwing week
After one game, if I go in there and say, 'OK, guys, this 3-4 sucks, so I'm throwing it out,' and after another game, 'Hey, this new defense I put in last week sucks, so I'm throwing that out,' then they don't have a system, they don't have a defense and they don't know what to hang their hat on,
bit capable catch looks moving run training
I think that he'll be able to do a little bit before then, and I think that we'll be able to have an idea of what he's capable of doing, to a degree. If he's out there still limping in training camp, then we're going to say, 'Hey, its not going to work. He's going to need more time.' But if he's moving around pretty well and it looks like he can catch and run and all those things, then we'll be more encouraged.
approach areas improve week won work
I think the approach to the bye week wouldn't have been any different if we would have won the game, ... We want to try and improve the team. We are going to work on areas where we are deficient.
anytime carolina game good injuries last might super team year
I think Carolina would be a good game anytime because they are a good team. I told the team that two years ago Carolina was in the Super Bowl. If it hadn't been for the injuries they had last year they might have been back there again.
ben bit coverage fitting good initially injuries involved might overall pass running stuff system talk training understanding
I think Ben might be a little bit better than I initially thought he was in training camp, ... There was some talk about injuries with him and being better in pass coverage than the run. I think overall he's doing a pretty good job. Nothing great, but he is fitting into the system and understanding more about the defense. He's involved in coverage and the running game, so all of that stuff is good.
basically hit open
I think basically he was inaccurate. If a guy's open and you don't hit him, that's not the defense.
add assisting browns career cleveland current duties further help immediate jeff might overflow position road role
Jeff will add to his current role by assisting me with any overflow duties that might arise. Hopefully, this position will further Jeff's career down the road and help the Cleveland Browns in the immediate future.
changes evaluate leaving needed personnel position situation whatever
I said that we would evaluate our situation and if personnel changes needed to be made, we would make them, at whatever position. I did not specify any position or anybody, and that's what I'm leaving it at. OK?
ball came defense fought good guys job last move offense rebound score slow talked week weeks
Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points.
caught couple saw sitting throws
Just sitting out there, I saw a couple of throws that caught your eye.
