Better than being complacent. It's a fresh start for us. You can see that in the boys ... it's an opportunity to put ourselves in a good position going into the playoffs.
We've put ourselves in a good spot, but it's not said and done. We've still got to finish it off. We realize at home is our best opportunity to do that. We've just got to re-focus for that game.
Starting out, you just want to make a good impression and play your best,
Look, I'm just looking forward to getting the chance to play in the playoffs. That's what you want to get in your career and this is going to be a good challenge for me.
I'll take the good bounces for sure. Luck was on our side, definitely.
Being a young guy, I'm just going in there and want to make the simple saves and play solid in there. With the team we got here, I think we stand a good chance.
By their reaction and the referee calling it right away, I thought it was in. I'll take it. It's a good bounce, for sure. Luck was on our side tonight.
It was a big game for him. It was no big deal for us, but for him it was. Maybe for him it's good to get it behind him.
It's a chance to give us a bit more breathing room, a chance to play a good team that plays us tough. We're happy to have Alfie back ... we just want to keep playing strong going into the playoffs.
They have a skilled team, so for them to get only 17 shots, that means we did a good job defensively. We limited their chances and we definitely got ours.
They got a good team. We got ahead with our special teams at the start of the game and from then on it was a battle both ways.
We've got them in a position where we know our best chance to put them away is at home. We played a strong game. We didn't have our best start, but we played solid -- especially in the third.
Toronto is close to my hometown of Hamilton. I grew up watching Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday night. It was one of the most exciting games of my life, that's for sure.
This team has been playing really well (9-1-1) since the Olympic break. (First place) is where we've had our sights set all year. It's exciting. It's definitely great to be in that spot.
