What Mulder has done is really solidify their rotation. It enables them to put pitchers in a third and fourth position that they would like and it gives them a very strong rotation.

We are a different club and we are probably not as offensively as potent as we were last year. We certainly don't have the possibility to break a game open with the long balls like we did last year. We're a little bit younger in our offense, but somehow we found a way. Our pitching is more solid than it was last year from top to bottom. Our bullpen has been good on the balance of the year and having Andy Pettitte healthy has helped our rotation quite a bit. Guys usually have a very difficult time crossing the diamond in the infield. But he's extremely quick, as quick as anybody I've ever seen at turning a double play. That's unusual for a guy to have such a strong arm, who can throw the ball across the diamond and then move to second and immediately be able to change his arm angle.

We missed some pitches that we should have hit, and we expanded the (strike) zone sometimes when we probably shouldn't have. But the bottom line is they did a pretty good job of pitching against us.

The problem comes if somebody doesn't get to play, and that's the advantages of depth and it helps the team, but some individuals will get hurt. I don't how that's going to work.
