case closer manage spread
Usually, over the years, I manage to keep the closer pretty well spread out, ... That's not been the case this year.
asking beautiful draw game learn manage ourselves players quite
The beautiful thing about our game to manage (is) you learn on the job. We've been through all the experiences. You're not asking the players to do something we ourselves haven't done. He'll draw on those experiences, and I think he'll do quite fine.
basically deal everybody great hope learn managerial piece style
You learn a piece of it basically from everybody that you play for. I would hope that my managerial style is a great deal like Chuck. He's my mentor.
chuck continued exactly manage mom
Chuck continued to manage because he said that's exactly what his mom wanted him to do. He said, 'She wanted me to get to the World Series, but she wanted me to see it through,' and he did.
ball field foolish given goes manager maybe players terms
In terms of the way I played, I was aggressive, foolish at times, maybe the same way as a manager sometimes. But it doesn't really matter. It's what goes on on the field at any given minute, the players have the ball in their hands.
against ball bat care decent few good job pitches swinging team threw
We just had a lot of Dontrelle Willis tonight, more than I'd care to see, ... Brandon (Backe) threw the ball well. He had a lot of good pitches and only a few mistakes. That was a decent job against a team that is really swinging the bat well.

against bottom good job line missed pitches pitching zone
We missed some pitches that we should have hit, and we expanded the (strike) zone sometimes when we probably shouldn't have. But the bottom line is they did a pretty good job of pitching against us.
happening hits parts timely
What's happening is we're getting timely hits and we're doing it from all parts of the lineup.
balls three
We had three balls that should have been caught,
good normally
We had the lead. When we get it, normally we keep it. We will. We're good at it. We've been doing it all year.
advantages depth helps problem somebody
The problem comes if somebody doesn't get to play, and that's the advantages of depth and it helps the team, but some individuals will get hurt. I don't how that's going to work.
certainly pieces
We certainly have depth. That's one of the plusses, and we have pieces we can move.
