puts roy
Roy is not a promoter. He's very laid-back. That's not a show he puts on.
fast roy sets throws works
Roy comes out, throws strikes, works at a fast pace. That sets the tempo.
comfort disregard
a disregard for the comfort of our fans.
andy blessed certainly considered deserves
Actually, we're blessed to have two No. 1 starters. Even before I got here, I always considered Andy Pettitte particularly special. Certainly he deserves it, too.
So, you've got to do things, in my opinion, that way, so most of it's calculated.
felt ok
I felt that he would be OK (in that situation),
days debated good playing time today
I debated about playing him today because he had two days off. He'll hit, but it's a good time to have a day. He'll get going with the bat here soon, and I'll want to play him every day.
draw hope team
I'd hope the team would draw on his strength,
bat cautious hit hoped maybe mistake throw took
I'd hoped they would try to be cautious with him and maybe throw something up there and make a mistake and let him hit the ball. They took the bat out of his hands, which I hoped they wouldn't do.
enjoys fine move office perfectly political running time
I don't think he's going to be running for political office any time soon. He just enjoys pitching. If he could just move all this into his hometown, I think he'd be perfectly fine with that.
exactly injured respect
I don't see (the injured players) as a disadvantage (for the Cardinals). It may not be exactly as they would like to have it, but I can't tell you how much we respect their team.
along becoming bit chance fail gotten letting luxury might platoon player seem stretch type
I don't see him as a platoon player by any stretch of the imagination, and in other circumstances, he might have gotten a chance to play every day, and you would have seem more of this type of player every day. We just didn't have the luxury of letting him fail a little bit along the way to becoming the player that he is.
appreciate good people recognize
I appreciate when people recognize that you're doing a good job,
asked
I asked for him to get some help. But we didn't get any help.
