lucky maybe win
She was maybe lucky in the first set, a little bit, to win it. Sometimes it's like that.
difficult great happy match player win
She's a great player and I'm really happy to win such a difficult match and to win overall,
definitely deserved faced lucky maybe opponent ready win
I faced an opponent who was just ready for everything I had today. She was maybe lucky in the first set to win it, but she was definitely better over the two sets. She deserved to win, but I made her play.
came happiness happy opening win
I'm happy to win the opening match. I came here to win one or two matches, ... I just don't see the way I can win this event.
forward looking lucky match matches save tough winning
It was a really tough match and I was lucky to save the match point. And I am looking forward to winning two more matches here.
amazing win
It's just amazing that I could come back and win it at the end.
amazing greatest player win
This is huge. I really think she is the greatest clay-court player there is at the moment. It's just amazing that I could come back and win it at the end.
calm close confidence court few games hit hold lucky means nervous serve stayed thinking third victory winners
There was a lot going on. In the first set, she was not on the court yet, and I was there. So I was really quick. Then I think it was pretty close all the games, and I started to be really nervous thinking too many things. Because it would be my first victory at the Championships and it means so much to me, I got too nervous. I couldn't play anymore. In the third set, I just stayed calm and was so lucky to hold my serve the first few games to get my confidence back and hit some winners and serve well.
advantage attention happened lost took
I don't know really what happened to me. She just took advantage and didn't let it go. I just lost my attention a bit. Off the long wait, I don't know. I could really never feel comfortable.
close french good lost mary open played run
I can feel it happening. I (could) tell after I lost in the French Open to Mary Pierce. She had an unbelievable run and I played close. But close is not good enough for me. I want to get to a final.
few home move proud support weeks wish
I wish we could play more weeks here and why not the U.S. Open, move it down to Charleston. They make me feel at home and it's just a very few weeks where you really feel that support and I'm proud of it.
cheering love next time
I have just two things to say, ... Rainer (Hofmann, her husband), I love you, and to the crowd, next time try cheering for me in the first set as well.
against looks loses shaky tactics trying
She's always trying to play tactics against me ... but if it's not working 100 percent, she looks shaky and she loses her rhythm.
maybe
She's maybe a little favorite. But I think I have a shot.
