close french good lost mary open played run
I can feel it happening. I (could) tell after I lost in the French Open to Mary Pierce. She had an unbelievable run and I played close. But close is not good enough for me. I want to get to a final.
ball great happy played racket start strings strung today
She played great today and from the start I was not there. I couldn't feel the ball as well as I would like to. I was not happy with the strings at all. I couldn't get the racket strung the way I wanted it.
behind cheering heard heart hurt people played second wish
It hurt a bit, ... I thought we were in Switzerland. I played my heart out all match, and all I heard were people cheering 'Flavia' and 'Italy.' They got behind me in the second set, but I wish they'd been with me from the start.
bit draw event good personally played
Other tournaments are even more important to me personally because I, in the past, have never played really good here. But when I look at the draw and I see how big this event is, I, yeah, am a little bit frustrated.
perfect played tennis
I am very happy. I think I played perfect tennis tonight.
handle played powerful pressure strokes
I could not handle the pressure because her strokes are so powerful and very deep. And she really played good, very solid.
cannot maybe percent played point work worse
I just cannot play on this surface. I play maybe 50 percent worse on hard, ... I just played for every point but it did not work at the beginning.
closer confidence hope playing score
It was a little closer than the score indicates, ... I'm playing with a lot of confidence right now, and I hope I can go a lot further.
closer confidence felt further good hope playing score season
It was a little closer than the score indicates, but I felt it was a good first match. I'm playing with a lot of confidence right now after this season and I hope I can go a lot further in this tournament.
beginner beginning coordinate dizzy feeling felt hands legs second three
I started to feel unwell at the beginning of the second set, after two or three games. I was feeling dizzy like I couldn't coordinate what my legs and what my hands were doing. I felt like a beginner out there.
calm close confidence court few games hit hold lucky means nervous serve stayed thinking third victory winners
There was a lot going on. In the first set, she was not on the court yet, and I was there. So I was really quick. Then I think it was pretty close all the games, and I started to be really nervous thinking too many things. Because it would be my first victory at the Championships and it means so much to me, I got too nervous. I couldn't play anymore. In the third set, I just stayed calm and was so lucky to hold my serve the first few games to get my confidence back and hit some winners and serve well.
anywhere ball bit definitely feeling happy miss normally struggling
I was not very happy with the way I played, but I got through. I'm really struggling a bit because normally here I just could place the ball anywhere I wanted and really not miss too many. So I definitely want to get that feeling back.
feeling serve
I was never really feeling my game. My serve was not really there.
good move
I think just generally, my footwork was really not good and it was uncomfortable to move around the court.
