I know Chicago's got a lot riding on this game, but I've always taken the position that at the end of the season, it's not our responsibility to take care of other peoples' destiny. I've got to get my team ready for the playoffs. I've got to rest certain guys, I've got to get other guys time and at the same time, still make it a game.
I haven't seen players do that in a long, long time.
I haven't listened to any of it. I'm totally indifferent to what other people think because that's not my responsibility, because there's always going to be people out there trying to take you apart even when you're good and when you have your night.
I have seen a lot of good first quarters. I don't think I have ever seen one exactly like that. We didn't play well.
I think our guys remember that. I think they do remember getting embarrassed and humiliated in that game. It wasn't much fun.
I put no credence into how we finished at all.
His conditioning is the thing. Coming right in to the playoffs and expecting him to play well is unrealistic.
I really have some concerns going into the playoffs about it. I voiced it and he listened. So we'll see what happens.
(In the) third quarter they hit their first six or seven shots. From there, you could see their confidence rose.
I guess we were just out of it.
He's very methodical. He took in the film today and saw what teams (do). He knows what they do. He's so good that he can get through defenses and creases and cracks. He slowed it down a little tonight. He really took a look at the defense.
He's very instinctual in traffic and landing and so a lot of times he will fall to the ground and tumble. He's really a good tumbler. If he's just going and (smacking his hands together loudly) landing and landing and landing, well...
I paid my bill and I went up to the room and got a telephone call from the waitress. They're all pretty cheap guys to stiff a waitress.
If you can get 81? Absolutely. You just need 10 more attempts.
