feet felt good kane pitch preserve trying
I didn't want to get (Wise) in with everything on the line. I wanted him to be able to get his feet back on the ground. I felt good with Kane Davis, ... We're doing everything we can to preserve a one-run lead. We're just trying to get to Turnbow. We were one pitch away.
people three waiting
I don't know why people want to think it's a curse. We've been waiting three years for this.
cracks huge run
One run there is a huge run, ... You give up five, but you still have 27 cracks at a young kid.
lights ready special
Carlos is one of those special guys. When the lights go on, he's ready to go.
bit ended evident help hit instead putting runners runs score struggled struggling takes team three walks
(Capuano) just struggled all day. He could never get it going. We had too many walks all day. We ended up with nine. When a team has been struggling to score runs a little bit like they have, you can't help them out by putting runners on. Then it only takes one hit instead of three to score a run. That was evident in the first inning.
afford runners struggled struggling
Capuano had too many walks. We have been struggling to get runs, and we just can't afford to put runners on base. He just struggled all day long.
against behind fell glad good stuff win
(Cappy) had pretty good stuff but he fell back behind and you can't do that against St.Louis. We're glad we could get the win for him.
good pitching track turn
But those things all turn around. Our pitching will get back on track and we'll be in good shape.
anybody call finish game labeled loser matter tired ultimately
But that's just a start, it's not where we ultimately want to be. I'm tired of being labeled a loser for 12 years. If you lose one more game than you win, then that's what you are. It doesn't matter where you finish (in the division). I don't want anybody to call us a loser again.
ball curve fourth hammered
Rickie got a curve ball up in the fourth and hammered it. That was a big part of the ballgame.
bit hammered
Rickie got a curveball up a little bit and he hammered it. It was a big part of the game.
good nice rick sync
Rick Helling did a nice job. (He) had little spurts where he got out of sync a little bit. He made good adjustments and would get out of it.
asked came good job rick shot
Rick did a good job in Triple-A, and he came up here and has done everything we've asked him to do. We'll give him a shot at it.
enjoying midst monster poor winning
Poor Jenkins, he was distraught yesterday. He was having a monster year. We're having fun; we're in the midst of a 10-game winning streak, and he was enjoying himself.
