basketball coach college deal enjoying guys memories positive since team trying
I should be trying to coach basketball and our guys should be enjoying their college careers. But I don't know if I've had a team that's had positive memories out of this whole deal since I've been here.

Being a part of this, knowing I won't coach here anymore and won't coach these guys anymore was definitely a tough situation. But I'm proud of them, and they can hold their heads up high because they did a great job fighting back.

I think every coach, whether or not they're going to be there next year, anytime they have a group of guys they really love and appreciate, I feel more sadness for them than anyone because they fought hard. They really fought hard over the last month. I'm proud of them.

We got off to a great start, a blazing 15 points in the first half, the best I've seen our guys shoot the basketball. Just kidding, just joking.

Lester Abram is a 15-, 16-point guy. Chris Hunter is a seven- or eight-point guy. Hopefully, he'll have his guys back by tournament time, and they'll be very good. Every game I've played against him, somebody's been out. Every game.

With him breaking it on Saturday, it was devastating to him, and some of his teammates. When he came back, we were a Top 5 team, that's what (the players) were saying and feeling. I could kind of see it, our guys were down today without him.

We've got a chance to win the conference if we take care of home and win some road games. I think sometimes people forget we're in second place, and it's a shame these guys have to hear and read what they hear and read. We're trying to win a Big Ten title.

This was the first time I saw guys kind of not ready to shoot the basketball. If we are wide open, I don't mind us taking 40 threes ... Our guys just looked a little gun shy.

With all the things that have gone on, I thought today was pretty good. I thought we took a step in the right direction because I saw some guys fighting harder than what they normally fight and I saw some guys miss some shots they normally make.

It used to be where big guys would go get rebounds out of their area. Now they just stay in their area.

We had some guys just look over that game and just take it for granted that we would lose. We have to go in there and try to win. This can't be a game we go into and say, 'If we lose it's no big deal.' It's a big deal.

I need to get him on my team. This guy was so clean with his fundamentals, and defensively.

The first half we didn't move the ball quick enough. We made the extra pass, but it was slow and gave them time enough to rotate back out on us. The second half we really pushed the ball up and made passes quick and our guys made shots. When you make shots, you cure a lot of things.

We just need to focus on winning a game. We don't look at it as trying to get into the tournament. We're just trying to win some basketball games.
