It feel so good to get a win; we needed it. It's been a tough six games for us. We played hard and beat a very physical team. The most important thing is we won and it was not handed to us.

We're obviously not there yet. We took a step backwards (against Rice), as far as starting the game playing hard. It all comes back to me. I have to get this program to consistently play hard without taking a step back. We had it going for four or five games, and then we took a step back.

I've wanted to get our team to overachieve all year, even though we've been playing out of position with our backs against the wall, but they did that tonight as they continued to scrap and fight the whole game. Overall, it was a positive team builder for next year.

I've always been a firm believer that we could find quality athletes within the state of Mississippi and be extremely successful. I think we did that this season by signing players who we believe are among the best in the state.

Beasley was sick and probably should not have played. But he did and that was huge.

Craft is as good as he has been. Beasley is as good as he has been. The foundation is getting there.
coming excited gives places player score southern
We are very excited that Jarvis is coming to Southern Miss. Jarvis gives us something that we have lacked in that he is a player who can score from a lot of different places on the court.

I think Ron does as good a job as anybody in our league. They're a young team but I like the way they play and I like the way he coaches.
