against guys mistake national stacked team win
This is a team (Memphis) that could win a national championship, so let's make no mistake about it; who you play and where you play them is huge. We could play these guys 100 times and get closer, but we're just stacked up against us right now.
game played
I thought we could have been in this game and could have played with them.
learned mentally mistakes played stretch team throughout tough tougher
I thought this was the most mentally tough we've played down the stretch and I think we learned from the mistakes that we've made throughout the year. ... We were the tougher team down the stretch.
forte jason win
Jason Forte really wanted to win this game. I thought he willed us to win.
forte jason win
Jason Forte really wanted to win this game. He really willed this team.
flip kyle practiced side
Kyle is kind of the flip side of what's been going on with Travis. He hasn't practiced well lately.
buying early program
He's buying into our program and how he should play the game, and that's promising. He was very contentious early on, and he still has his moments, but he's learning.
game lost start
We lost the game at the beginning. We got outplayed at the start and could never get back in it.
mentally played plays stretch tough
We made the plays down the stretch. I thought it was the most mentally tough we played down the stretch all year.
fine knocking leading program
He was the leading scorer on a 2-14 team. Not knocking Rashaad, but this program is going to be just fine with or without (him).
backwards far five four game hard obviously playing program starting step taking took
We're obviously not there yet. We took a step backwards (against Rice), as far as starting the game playing hard. It all comes back to me. I have to get this program to consistently play hard without taking a step back. We had it going for four or five games, and then we took a step back.
believe confidence gain hard practiced practices success
I really believe that you gain confidence from hard practices and having success in those practices. Lately, Travis has practiced hard and he's had success. He's really come along.
earned found handed
I'll tell you what, the most important thing was we found a way to win, and it wasn't handed to us, we earned it.
next progress proud season win
I really proud of our team, we only have one senior. We made progress and it will show up next season in the win column.
