ball came point time
Every day, I put him more and more on the ball and try to get him more and more involved. I was teasing him yesterday, saying, 'When you came with me the first time (in Indiana), you wanted to be a point guard. Well, you're probably going to have your wish.
few lead league points press trouble
We lead the league in turnovers. Did you see them press on us? It's every game. We have few assists and a lot of turnovers. As much as we have trouble as we have guarding people, to give up 30 points on turnovers, it's even more difficult.
ball care lead league playoff points team telling trouble turned
I think if you look at the M.O. of this team all year, we have had trouble making stops. We have turned the ball over, we lead the league in turnovers, points of turnovers, and assist-to-turnovers. I keep telling them if you want to play playoff basketball, you've got to take care of the ball and execute. We don't get it and we have to keep working on it.
acted chest ovation point points pump standing trying
I was just trying to point out to him, you get a standing ovation and pump your chest and Allen's got 25,000 points and he acted like (it was) no big deal.
five good last learn minutes points seem teaching
I was concerned. We made those last five minutes seem like a year. But there were a lot of good teaching points in that. We had breakdowns but managed to get a win. We can learn from it.
build direction gets kids opinion point talk win
If it gets to a point where it's going where we can't win a game, well, I think the young kids are going to have to play more because, obviously, we're going to try to build something here and that's probably the direction we need to go. But we talk every day, and I don't think there are any differences in opinion in what we should do.
felt guy himself knowing looking looks loves perfect point special wants
I always felt if you get a big guy and a point guard, you got it made. And they were pretty special together.... Kevin, knowing him, he has no ego, he just loves to play and wants to win. I don't think he ever looks at himself as 'the man.' I think that was a perfect match. Looking back on it, it's kind of sad.
gave lack loose near people points terms
We gave up 35 points on turnovers and I don't think we got near a loose ball. I think most of that was effort. We can point to a lot of people in terms of lack of effort.
farthest point
He's the farthest thing from a point guard.
arenas assist guy hard indicative leading points pressure ran team
Hopefully, he'll be all right. If not will have a little more pressure on him, and Jamal will have to play. It's hard for him right now. He doesn't know any plays. Not that we ran any the first half. But Arenas was phenomenal, getting 46 points in 30 minutes. What's indicative of our team is Malik was the leading assist guy with three. We had 28 turnovers.
comment emphasis happy point
I'm not going to comment any more. That's not my point of emphasis right now. I'm just happy he was back.
anybody best career conference effect eric finals free given guard nba outcome point rein surely workman
If you're the best player, surely you're going to have some effect on the outcome of a game. And I've said this from Day 1: I've never given anybody in my career more free rein in my career. And I went to the conference finals (in Indiana) with Haywood Workman as a point guard. With Eric Snow, who was the fourth-string point guard in Seattle. He went to the NBA Finals (with Philadelphia).
ball call maybe points rest score shoot team walk year
As I told the team, maybe we'll walk the ball up the rest of the year and call a play every time, so the other team can't score 120 points and shoot 57%.
came case either halftime looked points second third
At halftime I think out of 47 points, 27 of them came out of either turnovers or second shots. And then in the third quarter, I think we were down 24, I looked they had 28 points off turnovers and we had two. And I think that's been the case all year.
