feeling guy locker stay team tremendous wanting
There's a tremendous feeling of team in the locker room. There's a tremendous feeling of not wanting to let the other guy down, and especially when the game's on the line, you see it every night. ... If you stay with that feeling, you can take a long run.
coaching eyes happens ice job open percent putting stuff team whether wide
About 25 percent of your job is coaching the team on the ice and about 75 percent of your job is all of the stuff that happens off the ice, whether it be preparation or putting out fires. I think he's going in with his eyes wide open about that.
chops league whoever wood
That's what this league is going to be -- whoever chops the most wood at the end of the day is going to win.
best carries game good heart line player skill speaks volumes
That's who he is. That's the way he plays. He's got a really big heart, good skill level, but it's his heart and his competitiveness that he carries with him. What's interesting for me is, the game was on the line and he was the best player on the ice. That speaks volumes for a 20-year-old player.
expecting home living team
That's living dangerously. You can't live like that. You can't live expecting a team at home to go 0 for 9 again. That's no way to live. You're going to have to be better in that area.
against mistake period red schooled start third turn turned
That one line, you can't turn it over against them. (The Red Wings) schooled us. They turned every mistake we made at the start of the third period into a goal.
countrymen guy neither playoff until
You've got two countrymen going at it and neither guy really blinked until we got into (overtime) at the end there. This was very much like a playoff game.
add good
They do little things that at the end of the day add up to really good things for the team.
four last minutes penalty three
You don't want to take a penalty in the last three or four minutes of the game.
hockey next start trying weekend
You don't want to start out next weekend trying to find your hockey game.
darn wrong
There wasn't a darn thing wrong with our five-on-five game.
hooked penalties today
There were some penalties today that should have been called. We hooked and held, and that's what it is.
primitive
There were some long games. There was some city-by-city emotion. There was a lot of anger. There was a lot of high-spirited competition. It was down to its most primitive level.
advantage best flat game great guys healthy montreal next played start state talk took yesterday
This is the state were in right now. We played great yesterday and didn't get rewarded. We had a flat start to this game. Montreal took advantage and scored 5-on-3. They took advantage of our mistakes. We have to regroup. We have to get some healthy guys back in our lineup. We didn't play our best game today. We have some things we have to talk about in the next 48 hours.
