best owed player players talk thinks understand week
Any player who thinks he is owed anything is wrong. You talk about the best players in the world, and they understand that. They always think they are a week away from going into the stands.
camp injury start time training
This is an injury that when we did our medicals at the start of training camp was an injury that was in place from his time in New Jersey,
high minus power slump work
This isn't a slump. We competed at a high level; we just got beat. A slump is when you're not working. Work isn't the problem. We were minus on the power play again, and that's the game.
forgive peter talk
Oh, I don't want to talk about what we did. Peter would never forgive me.
against concern good losing major special teams
Against the good teams we're losing the special teams game, which is a major concern right now. And when you can't kill penalties, that's a big concern.
break confidence game pressure suits ton
They were just flying. A game like this suits them well. The (Olympic) break did them a world of good. They have a ton of confidence and they put a lot of pressure on people.
dangerous good job looking means outside
This is a dangerous time. If you are looking for outside help, it means you are not doing a good job inside.
eaten taken teams top
They're the top dog. They've taken on all comers and really eaten up some teams this year.
fair people peter step
I think that's a fair thing to say. I don't like it, though. I'd like to see other people step up. We're not a one-stick pony. People must step up when Peter is not on his 'A' game.
bar below checked game people playoff wore
I thought as the game wore on we were out-competed. This was like a playoff game. For a game where you're going to checked this hard, I thought we had too many people below the bar today. Way too many people.
against challenge difficult dig grasp hard seeing starting team
I think you're seeing in our team the realization of how difficult this challenge is, how hard it is, is starting to grasp everybody. I think you'll see our team starting (today against the Czechs) to dig in at a whole new level.
concern execute great performance type waste
I think the concern is you don't want to waste a great performance by a goalie. We got that type of performance. But we didn't execute offensively for him.
allowed biggest bit chasing difference game lead
I think the biggest difference for us was that we got the lead. We weren't chasing the game. We had the lead the whole game. It allowed us to play our game a little bit better. I think that was the biggest difference.
expect game hard home living team wore
I thought we got better as the game wore on. When you're killing back-to-back-to-back penalties, it's hard to get momentum. That's living dangerously. You can't expect a team at home to go 0-for-9 again.
