I wasn't used to having a boss kick in my office door and stand there screaming at me at the top of his lungs. I had to become a lot more aggressive just to not get bowled over but I never developed intimidation as a management style. It's counter to my personality.

I was thinking a top-10 this week would let me avoid Q-school. I don't like Q-school. Now I get to go to the Mercedes (Championships) and have a two-year exemption.

I still have the same urge. But I try to understand a little more now. I still have the same desire to be out there. With the medical staff knowing me, it's still an ongoing communication. But it's tough. I hate not playing. I hate it. I'm definitely doing everything I can to get back just as soon as I can.

I think overall in the situation we're in, it's probably the smartest thing to do. If it were the playoffs and we had a chance, then we'd be doing something different. But we're not, and it's time that I can get my hamstring closed up for good and my knee fixed.

I think everybody saw it coming, and I'm glad he's back. Last weekend was a good start for us. I was real proud of my team. People assumed that we'd just go through the motions in these final 10 races, but honestly, Tony Jr. coming back has kind of put a jolt in our enthusiasm. He's bound and determined to win some of these races and remind everybody what they've got to deal with next year.
