chance great kicked knocked pounding sports
There's been some great performers, not only in sports but in life, that have been kicked a little bit, knocked down. By God, if you have juice, if you're good, if you know you've got a chance to do something, you just keep pounding away.
build change chris continued extremely football future guy helped improve league man playoffs sign south team throughout win
There's change circulating throughout the league and for us to sign Chris Simms for our future is something that is extremely exciting. He's a young man that's continued to improve and helped take our team to the playoffs and win an NFC South championship and is a guy we will continue to build our football team around.
bring decision entered help opportunity stage
There's a lot of things that entered into this decision to bring him to Tampa. He's got a lot to prove. He's got to get it right. Hopefully, this is an opportunity for him to do it. The stage is set for him to be successful. If he can do that, we're going to look for him to help us. If he can't do that, then it's not going to be a very long-lasting relationship. We'll see what happens.
allen clean dexter jackson physical
It's a battle. We like what Dexter Jackson is doing. Will Allen is still a young guy. He's got some things to clean up. But he is athletic, he is physical and he can cover.

It was the logical thing to do. The ball wasn't at the two-yard line; it was at the one. And we had previous success at the goal line (in that game). Fortunately for us it all worked out.
admit convinced guys people situation tough truth whether
It was a tough situation at times because I don't think that there were people that were convinced that they were going to be here for the long haul, ... With some of these young guys with five-year deals, there's no way out. Whether you want to admit it or not, there is a lot of truth to that.
brink credit hanging orleans pushed
It's a credit to New Orleans for hanging in there. They really pushed us to the brink today.
means rest three tough
That just means that after three games, I'm making that statement. He has to back it up the rest of the season. But I'll say this about him. He's as tough as they get.
build continuity ethic instead nice pay players team within work
It's nice to have some continuity around here and build a team from within instead of compiling a nucleus of players from outside. That's challenging. The development, the persistence and the work ethic is going to pay off.
al although cologne coming hall knew smell wore
Al wore distinctive cologne that I can smell to this day. I knew he was coming down the hall before he ever got to my office. Al called me by a nickname, too, but it wasn't 'Chucky.' It was 'Butch,' although I never knew why.
attitude bowl football hall pleased progress ready saying super whatever
We're pleased with the progress we're making. We're not saying we're ready for Canton (the Pro Football Hall of Fame) yet or Super Bowl XL or whatever it is. (But) there is an attitude there that is very good. It's what we want, the toughness, effort, the technique, the fundamentals are getting better. We are very physical.
competition game open
To open the game up like that (the muffed return) was a downer. We'll open it up to competition this week, for sure.
