david great knows month pitch rapidly september
We scored runs. He didn't give them back as rapidly as we did. David Wells knows how to pitch and we need him to have a great month of September and get us back to where we need to be.
capable good pitchers talk team throwing
Everyone, when they talk about our team they talk about your offense. Our pitchers are capable of going out there and throwing good games.
feels pitch series situation
Every day, every night, every pitch -- everything is the most important situation that could come up. It kind of feels like the World Series a little bit. It's going to be amazing.
against anonymous career fight hurt last pitch risked sources stuff taken thrown time
I don't know where all these anonymous sources come from. Unfortunately we're in Boston, so there's stuff being thrown out there, ... Schilling's been hurt and it's taken him time to get ready. I even said after the season, in my book, that Schilling risked his career to go out there and pitch against the Yankees. He could have been done after last year. He wanted to come back and fight again and try to get us back to where we were last year.
boston loves pitching red sending thoughts winning
If we're just going out there just to get him work, that's not the Boston Red Sox way, ... We're sending him out there with thoughts of winning that game. He loves pitching here.
looking outside perfect pitches plate threw tough
More times than not, he's going to come through. He threw some tough pitches on the outside of the plate to get him looking out there, then he threw a perfect pitch in. Shields was an All-Star for a reason.
amazing depending guys joe pitchers teams whoever
It's pretty amazing. Joe is going to be able to flip-flop guys around, like three-four-five-six, depending on whoever is going great. It's just an amazing lineup. I know the other teams always look over and go, 'Wow. Another guy! Another guy here, another guy there.' Pitchers don't get much of a break.
pitches top
That's pretty amazing. They weren't on the top of their game, but they made the pitches when it counted.
bats definitely good guess help needed pitching staff swing
It's definitely very disappointing. I guess we just needed to swing the bats a little better and help out our pitching staff tonight. We had some good swings, and unfortunately we just couldn't do much more.
belt best fastball felt knows looking missed pitch surprised
It was pretty much a fastball down the middle. I felt bad. I was looking for a pitch a little lower. I was looking for something down and he actually got it belt high. I was pretty surprised I missed it, but it wasn't the best of swings. Fortunately, now, I missed it, because if I had put it into play, who knows what would've happened.
across close good learn pitcher push shows strike walk win zone
It's weird, because we need to learn how to win these close games. We need to learn how to push across runs. It just shows how good a pitcher can be when he's around the strike zone and doesn't walk anybody.
great help lose pitching staff time
It's frustrating any time you lose, but to lose in that fashion, it's on the offense. Our pitching staff did a great job, we just couldn't help them out.
bad center cut knows maybe pitching position solid work
As long as he can cut down the angles, maybe work it so where he has some shorter throws, he'll be fine. He knows the pitching staff, so he knows how to position himself. I don't think he's going to give center fielders a bad name. He's a solid player.
pitching stays team
They're a team that's going to be very scary. If their pitching stays healthy, they're going to be very, very good.
